A non-profit organization working to benefit our Salinas City Elementary schools. The Salinas City Elementary Education Foundation (SCEEF) was founded in 2005 by community members. Its primary purpose is to raise money to provide the district’s 8,700 elementary school children with art, music and technology. The extra funds provide students educational experiences beyond what the district can provide.
In 2011, Board members and volunteers came together to create” The "Foundation Fiesta”, an annual event for all of the 13 schools in the district to participate. The goal of the event is to raise a minimum of $50,000 each year and to bring a greater awareness to the mission of the Foundation – Education!!
The past year, the Foundation Fiesta, with the help of generous community sponsors and a hard working committee, exceeded the goal and raised almost $70,000 to support our local students. The event is gaining more popularity year after year.
A school survey, conducted in 2012, resulted in an overwhelming response to the growing importance and need for more technology at the schools. The Board responded to that request by investing in an iPad cart with 30 iPads which was raffled off at the 2013 event. Lincoln Elementary was the proud winner of the cart and is embracing this new technology and it’s helping advance the new Common Core Standards being implemented in the classrooms.
The Foundation will continue to provide music, art and even more technology for our students. To do so, we intend to apply for educational and technological grants, from private, state and federal agencies. The Foundation will remain relevant and focused on its mission.

We Need Your Help!!
The Salinas City Elementary Schools Foundation is looking for energetic and committed community members to join us each month as we plan and work for supporting our local schools. We especially want parent and staff present at our meetings who represent each of our local schools, as well as local community artists and musicians to provide their support, input and ideas.
The Salinas City Elementary Schools Foundation is also looking for individuals who are talented in social marketing and print media to help us in the development of a Foundation brochure and a key Social Marketing plan.
