Salinas City Elementary School District will receive its award at a recognition ceremony to be held on Saturday, December 3 from 11:45 a.m. to 2 p.m. at CSBA’s Annual Education Conference and Trade Show in San Francisco at the San Francisco Marriott Marquis located at 780 Mission Street.

Hope is an important aspect of what our Homeless Education Family Resource Center provides to our most at risk families in Salinas City Elementary School District.  Hope creates an idea that goals can be achieved. The Family Resource Center provides a seed of hope to the children, thereby creating a desire in them to do their best in school and understand that they too have an opportunity to succeed in school, go to college, to have a career, and to end the poverty they are experiencing as children when they are adults. The Center provides a supporting environment that helps children to understand their self-worth and heighten their self-esteem. The Family Resource Center services and programs offer a truth to children of poverty and to our homeless children that they desperately need to know. This truth is that every child in America has a right and the opportunity to achieve their dreams through education.
