We are here to help our new SCESD students get enrolled. Whether a student is planning to attend their home school, or one of our fifteen school choice options, registration is required if the child is brand new or re-enrolling to the District.

Dual Language Immersion Program
If you are interested in applying for the Dual Language Immersion Program, the application window is open for all new students between December 2022 through March 15, 2023. You may apply via our online portal at https://salinascityesd.
schoolmint.com/ The first step to applying for a Dual Language Program is filling out an application. When it is time, you will receive a notice to submit an IntraDistrict or InterDistrict form. IntraDistrict forms will be an online process. InterDistrict forms may be submitted to magda.reyes@salinascity.k12.ca.us
Dual Language Immersion Program Application Window: December 7, 2022 - March 15, 2023 (Applications submitted after March 15, 2023 may be considered, should space be available)
The first round placement of students will be made for those who have met the application deadline. If the number of applicants exceeds available spaces, a lottery will be held.
Should a lottery need to take place, we anticipate that parents/guardians will be informed no later than April 15, 2023.
For any remaining spaces, applications after March 15, 2023 will be processed and approved on a first come first serve basis.ENROLLMENT FOR THE 2023-2024 SCHOOL YEAR WILL BEGIN IN January 2023.

A birth certificate, baptismal record, passport, or other acceptable proof of birth are required in order to register your child.
Enrolling for 2022/23: Age requirement for Kindergarten: Your child must be five (5) years of age on or before Sept. 1, 2022.
Age requirement for Transitional Kindergarten: Your child must be five (5) years of age between September 2, 2022 and February 2, 2023.Enrolling for 2023/24: Age requirement for Kindergarten: Your child must be five (5) years of age on or before Sept. 1, 2023.

IMMUNIZATION RECORDS
Law SB277 requires all incoming students to be fully immunized or have a medical exemption from their physician.If your child is missing immunizations, you may either:

Consult with your primary care physician for immunization record completed, OR
-
Visit the immunization clinic at the Alisal Health Center, 559 E. Alisal St., Ste, 202, Salinas. Their phone number is 831-769-8870.

ORAL HEALTH ASSESSMENT
California Education Code 49452.8, requires that your child have an oral health assessment by May 31 in Kindergarten or first grade, whichever is his or her first year of public school. You may present either:-
Verification of an oral health assessment performed (by a licensed dentist or other licensed or registered dental health professional) within the 12 months before your child enters school, OR
A completed the Oral Health Assessment Waiver form [Link]

HEALTH SCREENING
State law requires that each child entering school present either:

A Health Screening Certificate with a recorded physical exam dated after March 1, 2023, OR
-
A completed Health Screening Waiver form indicating that health services are declined.

SUBMIT A PRINTED CONFIRMATION OF ONLINE ENROLLMENT AND SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS. THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTS ARE REQUIRED IN-PERSON
- Printed Confirmation of Online Enrollment
- Student's Age Validation: Original Birth Certificate or Valid Passport
- Student's Current Immunization Records: in any format including online
- Parent/Guardian Identification: Please provide a valid Driver's License or state-issued ID
- IEP or 504 Plan, if applicable
- Verification of Address
