We are so excited that you selected Salinas City Elementary School District!

We are here to help our new SCESD students get enrolled. Whether a student is planning to attend their school of residence, or one of our fifteen school choice options, registration is required if the child is brand new or re-enrolling to the District.
If you are interested in applying for the Dual Language Immersion Program, the priority application window is open for all new students between December 2022 through March 15, 2023. You may apply via our online portal at https://salinascityesd.
schoolmint.com/ Please note we will accept applications after March 15, but they will be considered on a first-come, first-served basis. For more information on the Dual Immersion application process, please visit the Dual Immersion page, via this link.

ENROLLMENT FOR THE 2023-2024 SCHOOL YEAR WILL BEGIN IN JANUARY 2023.
Follow this 3-step process to register your child. Please note, your child will not be completely registered for enrollment until you complete all three parts.
Families can enroll online using the Aeries Online Enrollment Portal. You can find a link to the Aeries Online Enrollment Portal in step two of the 3-step process.

GATHER THESE IMPORTANT DOCUMENTS
Please gather copies or take photos of any and all of the following documents below:
- Verification of Address
One utility bill or other appropriate documentation will be necessary to verify your current residency
Acceptable Documents- PG&E Bill
- Tax Bill
- Waste Management Bill
- MRWPCA Bill
- Property Tax Bill
- Rental Agreement

- Birth Certificate / Age Verification [ENG] [SP]
A birth certificate, baptismal record, passport, or other acceptable proof of birth are required in order to register your child.
Enrolling for 2022/23: Age requirement for Kindergarten: Your child must be five (5) years of age on or before Sept. 1, 2022.
Age requirement for Transitional Kindergarten: Your child must be five (5) years of age between September 2, 2022 and February 2, 2023.
Enrolling for 2023/24: Age requirement for Kindergarten: Your child must be five (5) years of age on or before Sept. 1, 2023.
Age requirement for Transitional Kindergarten: Your child must be five (5) years of age between September 2, 2023 and April 2, 2024. - Legal Documentation (*If applicable)
- Immunization Records
Law SB277 requires all incoming students to be fully immunized or have a medical exemption from their physician.If your child is missing an immunization, you may either:- Consult with your primary care physician for immunization record completed, OR

Visit the immunization clinic at the Alisal Health Center, 559 E. Alisal St., Ste, 202, Salinas. Their phone number is 831-769-8870.

Also, provide copies of these follow-up documents:
- Oral Health Assessment
California Education Code 49452.8, requires that your child have an oral health assessment by May 31 in Kindergarten or first grade, whichever is his or her first year of public school. You may present either:-
Verification of an oral health assessment performed (by a licensed dentist or other licensed or registered dental health professional) within the 12 months before your child enters school, OR
- A completed the Oral Health Assessment Waiver form [Link]

- Health Screening
State law requires that each child entering school present either:

A Health Screening Certificate with a recorded physical exam dated after March 1, 2023, OR
-
A completed Health Screening Waiver form indicating that health services are declined.

SUBMIT A PRINTED CONFIRMATION OF ONLINE ENROLLMENT AND SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS
The following documents are required in-person:
- Printed Confirmation of Online Enrollment
- Student's Age Validation: Original Birth Certificate or Valid Passport
- Student's Current Immunization Records: in any format including online
- Parent/Guardian Identification: Please provide a valid Driver's License or state-issued ID
- IEP or 504 Plan, if applicable
- Verification of Address
Enrollment for the school year 2023-2024 will begin on January, 2023. Please stay tuned for any changes or details.
