SALINAS CITY ESD STUDENTS RETURN TO SCHOOL
The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) released an update to the K‐12 Schools Guidance that states masks, while strongly encouraged, are now optional. It is up to each family to decide if they want their child(ren) to wear masks in schools. The District will continue to provide masks to any student who needs them.

ESTUDIANTES DEL DISTRITO ESCOLAR DE SALINAS CITY REGRESAN A LAS ESCUELAS
El Departamento de Salud Pública de California publicó una actualización de la Guía para escuelas K-12 que establece que las máscaras, aunque se recomiendan enfáticamente, ahora son opcionales. Depende de cada familia decidir si quieren que sus hijos usen máscaras en las escuelas. El Distrito continuará proporcionando máscaras a cualquier estudiante que las necesite.

RECENT LEGISLATION: AB 130 - INDEPENDENT STUDY
In compliance with AB 130, for the 2021-2022 school year, all parents and guardians of enrolled students have the option to enroll their child in independent study. Below, you will find more information about the independent study process and how to apply:

To enroll in the Independent Study Program for the 2021-2022 school year, there must be an agreement in place for each student. The agreement must be signed by the student’s parents, legal guardian, or caregiver.
