The Board of Trustees of the Salinas City Elementary School District comprises five members elected by the community to fulfill its duties on behalf of  the District. These duties include the authority to adopt, enforce and monitor all policies involved in the management and governance of District schools; approving the ongoing expenditures of the District; helping form and approve the District's budget and its long-range planning; and hiring and evaluating the Superintendent.
