SALINAS CITY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL DISTRICT

RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING CLASSIFIED SCHOOL EMPLOYEE WEEK MAY 18-24, 2025

RESOLUTION NO. 2024-25/26

WHEREAS, classified school employees are essential members of the public education team, providing critical services that support student achievement, health, safety, and well-being; and

WHEREAS, the classified employees of the Salinas City Elementary School District perform vital roles in transportation, food services, maintenance and operations, instructional support, clerical and technical work, health and safety, and a variety of other areas that enable the district to operate efficiently and serve the needs of students, staff, and families; and

WHEREAS, classified employees often serve as trusted mentors, role models, and a consistent source of connection and belonging for students across our 15 schools; and

WHEREAS, the contributions of classified staff are fundamental to maintaining clean, safe, welcoming, and inclusive learning environments for all students; and

WHEREAS, these dedicated professionals are represented through collaborative labor partnerships, including the California School Employees Association (CSEA), and are valued members of the Salinas City ESD community; and

WHEREAS, Section 45203 of the California Education Code designates the third full week of May as Classified School Employee Week in recognition of the invaluable work performed by classified staff throughout the state;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Education of the Salinas City Elementary School District hereby recognizes the week of May 18-24, 2025, as Classified School Employee Week, and expresses deep appreciation for the service, commitment, and heart that classified employees bring to our district every day.

APPROVED, PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Governing Board of the Salinas City Elementary School District, State of California, this 29 day of May 2025, by the following vote:
