SALINAS CITY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL DISTRICT

RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING CERTIFICATED SCHOOL EMPLOYEE WEEK MAY 11-17, 2025

RESOLUTION NO. 2024-25/27

WHEREAS, certificated staff are at the heart of the educational experience and serve as the foundation for student learning, growth, and academic achievement; and

WHEREAS, the certificated staff of the Salinas City Elementary School District dedicate themselves to nurturing the intellectual, social, and emotional development of each student, adapting to diverse learning needs with skill, care, and innovation; and

WHEREAS, certificated staff inspire curiosity, promote critical thinking, foster creativity, and cultivate a love of learning that can last a lifetime; and

WHEREAS, the educators in our district work in partnership with families, support staff, and administrators to ensure that all students are prepared to thrive in school and in life; and

WHEREAS, the Salinas City Elementary School District recognizes the leadership, passion, and professionalism demonstrated by its certificated staff every day across its 15 schools; and

WHEREAS, California Education Code § 37222.10 designates the second Wednesday in May as the Day of the Teacher, and serves as a special opportunity to recognize teachers for their critical role in student success;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Education of the Salinas City Elementary School District hereby declares May 12-16, 2025, as Certificated School Employee Week, and encourages all members of our school community to join in celebrating and thanking our educators for their unwavering commitment to student success and well-being.

APPROVED, PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Governing Board of the Salinas City Elementary School District, State of California, this 29 day of May 2025, by the following vote:
