Food Services
Welcome and thank you for allowing Salinas City Elementary School District (SCESD) the opportunity to provide your children with nutritionally balanced meals. We wholeheartedly believe that students who eat better learn better!
Salinas City Elementary School District Food Services Department provides meals under the National School Breakfast, National School Lunch, Fresh Fruit and Vegetable, Child and Adult Care Food (Super Snack), and Seamless Summer Programs. Food Services provides students nutritionally sound meals to enhance their ability to learn, serving 12,000 meals daily during the school year, including breakfast, lunch and Super Snacks. Additionally, 22,000 summer meals are served annually, bringing the total to nearly 2 million meals served each year. These meals are provided at 15 sites supported by 70 Food Services professionals.
To assist the District in accessing all available state and federal funds, Food Services sends out an annual income survey to families. The information gathered in the survey is kept confidential. If you prefer to fill out the survey online, please use this link to access this year's survey. The survey is due by Sept. 30.
Income Survey
Please take a few minutes to complete our important survey. Your participation is crucial in securing the necessary funding and resources to provide healthy, nutritious meals to every child in our district. Together, we can make sure no student goes hungry. Thank you for your support!

For the 2025-26 school year, we will offer meals to all students at no charge at all of the District’s 15 schools, regardless of income. It is imperative that an income form be filled out at the beginning of the school year, as it assists the District in obtaining grant funding and state and federal dollars to assist in providing high-quality and nutritious food to our students.

Salinas City Elementary School District will provide after-school snacks at nine sites and summer breakfasts and lunches for all Salinas residents ages 18 and under at six sites; the summer program runs through July 24. Please note that all food offered during the summer must be consumed on site, and there is no grab-and-go option available.
