Pupil Services

Pupil Services are resources and support systems provided by schools to help students succeed academically, socially, emotionally and physically. These services can include counseling, special education and health services.

Essentially, Pupil Services aim to ensure every student receives the support they need to reach their full potential, in school and beyond. As an MTSS (Multi Tiered Systems of Support) District, we strive to support the whole child.

MTSS can be understood as a system schools use to ensure all students get the right help they need to succeed in different areas, like academics, behavior, and emotions. Think of it as a ladder with three steps:

  1. Tier 1 - Support for Everyone: This is the base level where all kids get good teaching and positive behavior encouragement.

  2. Tier 2 - Extra Help if Needed: Some kids might need a bit more help, like extra tutoring or support in small groups, to catch up or deal with specific challenges.

  3. Tier 3 - Intensive Support: If a child still struggles even after getting help at Tiers 1 and 2, they'll get even more specialized help, like one-on-one instruction or targeted therapies.

MTSS is all about making sure every child gets the support they need to do their best in school and beyond.
