Sexual Harassment
SEXUAL HARASSMENT POLICY
Federal and state law prohibits sexual harassment as a form of sex discrimination. The Board prohibits sexual harassment of students by other students, employees or other persons, at school or at school-sponsored or school-related activities. The Board also prohibits retaliatory behavior or action against any person who files a complaint, testifies or otherwise participates in district complaint processes. Sexual harassment will subject the harasser to disciplinary action. Students who feel aggrieved because of conduct that may constitute sexual harassment should use the complaint procedures provided by district regulation.

Non Discrimination
NONDISCRIMINATION IN DISTRICT PROGRAMS
Federal and state law prohibits discrimination in education programs and activities and employment. The Governing Board is committed to equal opportunity for all individuals in education and employment. Salinas City Elementary School District prohibits unlawful discrimination, including discriminatory harassment, intimidation, and bullying on the basis of race, color, national origin, age, religion, political affiliation, gender, mental or physical disability, sex orientation, sex, marital or parental status, pregnancy, genetics or any other basis protected by federal, state, or local law, ordinance, or regulation in its educational program(s) or employment. No person shall be denied employment solely because of any impairment which is unrelated to the ability to engage in activities involved in the position(s) or program for which application has been made. If you need a reasonable accommodation to participate in the hiring process, Salinas City Elementary School District will provide you with one upon notice. Any complaint regarding discrimination in education programs and activities shall be filed in accordance with the district’s Uniform Complaint Procedures. Policy - BP 1312.3 / Regulation - AR 1312.3
This policy shall apply to all acts related to school activity or to school attendance occurring within a school under the jurisdiction of the superintendent of the school district. Requires that school personnel take immediate steps to intervene when it is safe to do so and when he or she witnesses an act of discrimination, harassment, intimidation, or bullying.

Harassment and Bullying
HARASSMENT/BULLYING
The Governing Board is committed to maintaining a safe school environment that is free from harassment and discrimination. The Board prohibits, at any district school or activity, unlawful discrimination, harassment, intimidation, and bullying of any student based on the actual or perceived characteristics specified above. The Board also prohibits any form of retaliation against any student who files a complaint or report of discrimination, harassment, intimidation, or bullying. Students or employees who engage in discrimination, harassment, intimidation, bullying or retaliation will be subject to disciplinary action. Students should report any harassment, intimidation or bullying to the school principal or other staff member and may file a complaint under the district’s Uniform Complaint Procedures.
