SCESD Staff Honored by Tech Organization

Congratulations to Brian Hays, Director of Innovation and Technology, and Nicole Williams, Sherwood Elementary School 5th grade teacher, who were honored by MB CUE (Monterey Bay Computer Using Educators) as the Administrator of the Year and Teacher of the Year, respectively.

They were nominated by SCESD Teacher on Special Assignment Krysta Bradley, who joined the IT team to help teachers flourish in their use of technology in the classroom.

In her nomination of Mr. Hays, Ms. Bradley writes: "EdTech and IT are two different things that require communication and must support each other. Brian maximizes the department's impact through excellent customer service, support of teachers and families, and leading by example. He 'grows' his staff by mentoring them and he helps them advance in their own roles. Ultimately, Brian is an administrator anyone would be lucky to have."

And as of her nomination of Ms. Williams, Ms. Bradley stated: "She pioneered her district's Education Innovation Team, she is creating a site MakerLab, she has supported and participated in the district STEAM Showcase every year, she has become the model for Cal Water's Annual H2O Challenge, and introduced some of our own board members to the CUE community...she is the teacher all the kids want to be near. She captivates them and engages them in all they are learning."
